AEC Sponsors Graduation Ceremony and Exhibition of the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University

Sponsorship comes within AEC's efforts to support the academic sector and develop national talents in technical fields.

 

Riyadh, 10 March 2021: The Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) company, announced its sponsorship of the College of Computer and Information Sciences’ graduation project ceremony and exhibition at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University. The event's sponsorship, held at the college's headquarters in Riyadh, reflects AEC's efforts to support the academic sector in the Kingdom and develop national talents in technical fields.

 

AEC Executive Vice President of Shared Services and Corporate Affairs Eng. Abdullah Al-Gadi expressed his pride in sponsoring the event, stating that it reflects the company's great interest in the educational journey and its commitment to facilitating knowledge and refining the skills of the nation's youth. He noted that the company is building its reputation not only as a leader in manufacturing and development but also in women's empowerment as an investment in human capital. He explained that the company had made great strides in empowering women as it currently employs around 221 women in various manufacturing jobs.

 

"Promising Saudi talents are waiting for the opportunity to soar in the world of creativity, and we look forward to more cooperation between AEC and the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University to enhance the development of national talents; thereby resulting in outputs that greatly contribute to advancing development, women's empowerment and achieving the Kingdom's aspirations," Al-Gadi said.

 

The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran and speeches by the Dean of the College, the Vice-Rector of Educational Affairs, and supporting companies' representatives. Attendees reviewed the exhibition's various sections and specializations, and the supporting companies recognized the graduation projects, the organizers of the exhibition and competitions, and the members of the competition jury. The winning graduation projects for the undergraduate stage and the graduation projects in participation with other colleges for the undergraduate stage were recognized. Students participating in the design of the graduation projects brochure and the NEOM competition were also recognized.

 

Established in 1988 and headquartered in Riyadh, AEC has built a firm standing in Saudi Arabia’s military industries sector over more than three decades. The company designs, develops, manufactures, maintains, and repairs advanced systems and products in the defense and aerospace, information and communications technology, security, and energy sectors. It employs more than 2,200 employees, 85 percent of whom are Saudis who include over 500 highly skilled and certified male and female engineers working in various departments.
