Eng. Ziad H. Al-Musallam is a seasoned corporate executive and technologist in the defense electronics and high-tech industry with an exceptional technical, operational, and business track-record spanning a 30-year career at Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI). Eng. Ziad is currently leading the organization as President & Chief Executive Officer since March 2021, and is responsible for the overall strategic direction and financial profitability of the organization, overseeing the entire business, fiscal, and operational activities of AEC. He is also the Executive Vice President of Defense Electronics at SAMI since December 2021, heading the division responsible to enhance the nation’s capabilities in the local development and production of defense electronics.
Eng. Ziad was previously Executive Vice President of Engineering & Operations since 2017 and prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Engineering & Development since 2014. In addition to this role, he was also Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Energy Business Unit from 2015 to 2017. During his entire tenure, Engr. Ziad has delivered tremendous organizational value to all stakeholders in terms of technology localization and has developed extensive in-house knowledge & capability over a sustained period.
Eng. Ziad joined AEC in 1991 in the Operations department and has had an illustrious career rising through the ranks within the organization. Prior to his tenure at AEC, he was a Design Engineer at the National Information Center, Ministry of Interior where he started his career in 1988.
Eng. Ziad is a Board member of the National Academy for Military Industries, member of the Industrial Committee - Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Committee - Saudi Space Commission, the Industrial Council - Ministry of Industrial and Mineral Resources, the Consulting Council - Department of Computer Engineering, King Saud University and the Saudi Council of Engineers at Consultant grade. Eng. Ziad has a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, KSA. He also has several management and leadership credentials from reputable global institutions such as INSEAD.
